Parting Words: Gratitude & Reminders

Dear patients and friends, It’s been over two decades since I began working as an acupuncturist here in Massachusetts. These years have taught me so much about life, healing, and what it means to be human. I am deeply grateful to each of you for trusting me with your care. 올립니다. 어느덧 매사추세츠에서 한의사로 일한 지 벌써 20년이 넘었습니다. 돌아보니 그 시간이 저에게 가르쳐 준것이 참 많습니다. 삶이란, 죽음이란, 고통이란 무엇이며, 그리고 사람이란 어떤 존재인지를 희미하게나마 깨닫습니다. 그동안 여러분 한 분 한 분이 저를 믿어주시고 치료를 맡겨주신 것에 깊이 감사드립니다. 저와 저희 가족에게 작은 변화가 있음을 알려드리려 합니다. 2026년 6월 24일 캠브리지에서의 마지막 진료를 마치고, 곧 매사추세츠를 떠나 텍사스로 이주할 예정입니다. 떠나기 전에 치료중 여러분과 자주 이야기했던 몇 가지를 나누고 싶습니다. 첫째, 태극권(Tai Chi)를 배워보시기를 권합니다. 이 운동이 몸과 마음에 미치는 효과는 이미 잘 알려져 있습니다. 처음에는 비디오 영상을 통해 배우시는 것은 피하시고 가능한 대면 수업을 추천합니다. 선생님이 잘못된 습관이 생기는 것을 막아줄 것이고 다른 분들과 함께하는 그룹 에너지가 생각보다 큰 도움이 됩니다. 만약 여의치 않으시면 일주일에 한두 시간이라도 자연 속에서 시간을 보내시기 바랍니다. 매사추세츠는 Blue Hills, 월든 호수, 아름다운 해변, 높고 낮은 산으로 정말 축복받은 곳입니다. 한 걸음씩 걸으며 살아 있는 흙과 맑은 공기를 통해 몸이 좋아지는 것을 경험 하시기를 바랍니다. 둘째, 각자의 몸에 맞는 건강 음식을 드시고 영양제 의존도를 낮추기를 바랍니다. 가능한 유기농 재료를 선택하시고, 특히 풀을 먹고 자란 고기, 천천히 자란 (slow-grown) 방목 닭, 신선한 지역 농산물을 추천합니다. 여유가 되실 때 지역 CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)를 이용해보시는 것도 좋습니다. 채식 주의자 여러분께 드리는 말씀입니다. 식단을 100% 완벽하게 지키려 애쓰지 마시고 95% 정도 유지하시길 바랍니다. 오히려 그렇게 여유를 가지시면 주변에 더 많은 분들이 동참하게 되리라 생각됩니다. 셋째, 잘 주무셔야 합니다. 많은 분들이 불안하거나 무거운 마음으로 ...
